Under general supervision, performs skilled duties in the installations, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and fixtures. Work involves performing routine preventive maintenance tasks and corrective maintenance tasks relating to pumps, air compressors, blowers, valves, piping, etc. to ensure that the plant operates efficiently with minimal process interruptions; installing new equipment when necessary as well as performing equipment rebuilds and providing occasional assistance to contracted personnel for some of the larger equipment repair needs; performing fabrication and welding tasks on a regular basis; following strict procedural guidelines through careful interpretation of manufacturer OEM manuals and frequent equipment updates; and preventing premature equipment failure while prolonging the life of new and existing equipment.

Requires a High School Diploma, or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to two years experience in industrial mechanical maintenance work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
