Obtaining Sewer Service

Specifications

Residential

1. Each unit shall be served by a minimum 4- inch lateral service line.

2. A maximum of two 4-inch services may be tied into a 6-inch diameter lateral service line.

3. Wye connections serving more than 1(one) unit must be made by utilizing a 6x4 double wye connection.

4. Clean-outs must be located on the property line, at each building connection location, at any turn of 45 degrees or more, and every 50 feet.

5. Clean-outs must be constructed to ground level.

6. All lines on private property must be constructed of Schedule 40 PVC pipe or Ductile Iron Pipe.

7. Service lines longer than 150 feet must be served by a minimum 6-inch line.

8. The minimum sewer grade slope or fall must be 1/4" for every linear foot of lateral.

9. All laterals must be 30" under the surface. If ductile or cast iron line is used the lateral depth can be less, but in no case less than 18" below the surface

Commercial

1. Each unit shall be served by a minimum 6- inch diameter lateral service line.

2. Wye connections serving more than 1 (one) unit must be made utilizing a 6X6 wye connection.

3. Clean-outs must be located on the property line, at each building connection location, at any turn of 45 degrees or , and every 50 feet.

4. Clean-outs must be constructed to ground level.

5. All lines on private property must be constructed of Schedule 40 PVC pipe, SDR 35 PVC pipe or Ductile Iron Pipe

6. The minimum sewer grade slope or fall must be 1/4" for every linear foot of lateral.

7. All laterals must be 30" under the surface. If ductile or cast iron line is used the lateral depth can be less, but in no case less than 18" below the surface

8. All Food Service establishments are required to install and maintain a District approved grease trap/interceptor at the owners expense. Newly constructed establishments are required to install at least a !,000 gallon grease trap, unless otherwise approved by the District. Access to the grease trap must be provided for inspection and cleaning. Clean-outs are not approved accesses. A "T" pipe is required on the discharge line. Inspections are conducted by the District at least yearly. A copy of the Grease Trap Standards is included with the application form.
