POSITION TITLE:
COLLECTION SYSTEM OPERATOR I DEPARTMENT: TRANS & COLLECTIONGENERAL DESCRIPTION and SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Under regular supervision, performs semi-skilled sewer line construction, maintenance, repairs, and correction duties. Work involves routine or repetitive duties following clearly prescribed standards and practices involving the application of ready understood rules and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be physically able to operate a vehicle, construction equipment, various tools, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; work involves sitting, standing and walking, operating machinery, working in confined spaces, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling and lifting/carrying weights of up to 150 pounds.
SKILLS or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Requires a High School Diploma, or GED equivalent, supplemented by six months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have a Class "D" Wastewater Collection Systems Certification within one year of employment. Must have a valid South Carolina Vehicle operator license.
RATE PER HOUR: $12.82 SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
