POSITION TITLE:
ELECTRICIAN III DEPARTMENT: SYSTEMS MAINTENANCEGENERAL DESCRIPTION and SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Under general supervision, performs skilled duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, relays, drives, drive appurtenances, wiring, conduit, and miscellaneous fixtures. Work involves performing preventive maintenance duties and critical troubleshooting procedures and interpreting data; performing meter calibration; replacing float switches, level transducers, and other basic as well as complex instrumentation and monitoring equipment; assisting in the development of design changes and/or additions for lift stations, equipment, and components at times interacting with contractors on electrical projects; troubleshooting electrical deficiencies pertaining to auxiliary generators and transfer switches; performing daily and scheduled monthly inspections of wastewater lift stations, associated force mains, vent valves, and piping; operating light to medium vehicles daily; assisting Mechanics with required duties as necessary; and making entries and maintaining daily lift station activity logs and calibration documentation required by regulatory agencies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, stretching or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a recurring basis, or considerable skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.
SKILLS or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Requires a High School Diploma, or GED equivalent, supplemented by two to three years of electrical maintenance and repair experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a validRATE PER HOUR: $18.51 SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
